Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach is a city imbedded with coastal charm, accompanied by luxury touches. This city offers a mix of waterfront condos, single-family homes, and master-planned communities with great amenities. There are also several historic neighborhoods featuring Old World aesthetics. Homes with ocean or intracoastal views are particularly prized. Some of the more luxury, modern condos that deliver oceanfront views and high-end finishes don’t have quite the same sticker price you’d find as further south in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami....

There is a plethora of year-round water activities to choose from in Pompano Beach:  boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling - especially near the inlet, with coral reefs accessible from the beach, scuba diving - including shipwreck dives, deep sea sport fishing, as well as stocked lake fishing. There are miles of beaches and plenty of parks, along with nature preserves, hiking trails, and green spaces are all conducive to the enjoyment of the nature-centric pursuits found in Pompano Beach.

Pompano is well-situated between Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is about 25-30 minutes south, while the Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is about 30-35 minutes to the north. The closest Brightline train station is about 15 minutes south of Pompano Beach, connecting travelers to Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando, with plans for a Tampa station next. There is also a Tri-Rail commuter train that connects Pompano Beach to the West Palm Beach area.

Pompano’s dining scene is robust, with both local casual restaurants, and upscale beachfront restaurants with ocean views. The Pompano Beach Fishing Village is a beachfront development, anchored by a long pier jutting out into the Atlantic, featuring  many dining options, hotels, event spaces, bicycle rentals (B-Cycle) and a kids zone including a splash pad and interactive fountains for the children’s enjoyment.

Shoppers can be found at the Pompano Marketplace, Pompano Citi Centre and Pompano Plaza, offering a range of items to purchase, from luxury to discount.

Pompano Beach has vibrant art community, with venues such as Bailey Contemporary Arts Center (BaCA), the Ali Cultural Arts Center, and the Pompano Beach Amphitheater for concert-goers and attending large events. There are well-attended annual events such as the three-day long Seafood Festival, Jazz Fest Pompano Beach, and “Fishing Rodeo”, the sportfishing tournament held at Hillsboro Inlet.

This South Florida city has a strong sense of family-friendly community that is multicultural and inclusive. Neighborhoods vary, so whether you prefer a quiet historic area, planned communities with good amenities or newer waterfront living, there’s something for everyone in Pompano Beach!
